Pastoral visitors needed!
Our Pastoral Care Team could use your help for a few hours each week. We have a number of parishioners who are housebound, some temporarily shut-in, some who are lonely and some unwell. An occasional visit or even just a phone call from someone who cares can be a great blessing. We would gladly provide some training and support if you feel you could help out. Please contact David Swift through the church office.

ST. JAMES WOMEN'S COUNCIL
What is the Women’s Council? This is a group of women who attend St. James Anglican Church and are dedicated to putting their heart and soul into volunteering for the good of God.
The executive for 2010-2011 is Sharon Lommen as President, Carol Dryburgh as Vice President, Debbie Newton as Treasurer and Karen Clements as Secretary, with another 23 members as of this September with openings for more.
The Women’s Council has had a very busy 2010 year so far. They have had functions from baby showers, weddings, end of the year banquets, funerals and of course the annual fashion show. This is just some of the ways the Women’s Council raise funds to help out different charities and some special needs for the Church, eg: bell tower, new fridge for the hall, and many other needs.
We look forward to letting you know what has been happening from now till then in the next issue of the source.
Sharon Lommen, President of W.C.
FAMILY LIFE GROUP
This group grew out of the Mother's Union. It meets regularly the second Wednesday of the month, usually to listen to presentations that have a Christian relevance in the daily life of families. Contact: Church Office.
(The Mother's Union is a popular, strong organization of women within the Anglican Church. The MU in Madagascar is very active, focusing its work on the needs and Christian development of women, family and children. Akany Famonjena orphanage is the vision and project of the Mothers' Union. Its members sit on the board and are responsible for the orphanage under the overseeing eye of the Bishop.)
THE QUILTING GROUP
Also called the Peacemakers, this group meets Wednesday afternoons in the Parish Hall to stich a quilt, chat and share a laugh. New and experienced quilters are always welcome.
