Pastoral visitors needed!
Our Pastoral Care Team could use your help for a few hours each week. We have a number of parishioners who are housebound, some temporarily shut-in, some who are lonely and some unwell. An occasional visit or even just a phone call from someone who cares can be a great blessing. We would gladly provide some training and support if you feel you could help out. Please contact David Swift through the church office.

Wardens Report
We are beginning the final segment of our calendar year! There is so much yet to happen, but just a quick word about the summer.
The Cemetery service was attended by the largest number in recent history. Many people
walked the Way of the Cross with Fr. David. It was a memorable event and our cemetery is
looking so much improved. We owe a great big vote of thanks to Lorna and Wayne Drummond,
Allan Code and all the committee for the vast changes there.
The Women’s council hosted the Anniversary Tea at the end of June. The hall was dressed in
its best attire for the year 1834. The tea was a lovely affair with silver service, etc. Many
thanks to Women’s Council and to Sandra Mailey for the long hours spent at this project.
The Sunday School picnic was so much fun for young and old as we enjoyed the shade at the
back of the church. There were lots of laughs, lots of prizes and treats. Well done, teachers and
helpers.
We are approaching the finale of our celebration year. There will be a celebratory service of
Holy Communion on October 4th with one service and former rectors assisting. There will be a brunch in the Parish Hall following and we hope you will attend.
Fr. David is holding a Wednesday evening service. Try to attend if you can.
The wardens trust that as we go forward into fall, all will be of one heart and one mind in our
commitment to God and to our church of St. James.
