Pastoral visitors needed!
Our Pastoral Care Team could use your help for a few hours each week. We have a number of parishioners who are housebound, some temporarily shut-in, some who are lonely and some unwell. An occasional visit or even just a phone call from someone who cares can be a great blessing. We would gladly provide some training and support if you feel you could help out. Please contact David Swift through the church office.

Outreach: Akany Tafita
A Christian Outreach Centre in the poor area of Antananarivo, the national capital of Madagascar, is devoted to helping poor and needy children and young people, and to developing relationships with their families.
SAHASOA (the guiding Anglican Diocesan Church Board in Madagascar) continues with its development.
STATUS: In 2003, land was acquired in a very poor area of Antananarivo and a simple wooden temporary house was constructed. Two adults began teaching 31 children in a Christian environment, as well as providing food, medical care and counselling. The children chose the name AKANY TAFITA, which means a centre for "maturing and developing their lives."
See photos.
CONSTRUCTION: The new Akany Tafita building began in October 2004 and was officially inaugurationin May 2005. The access road, gate and security brick wall were finished in December 2005.
OUTREACH: Akany Tafita is not an orphanage, not residential and not a government registered school. However, more than 30 children already come here daily for healthy food, medical care AND to learn how to read and write, and work with simple mathematics. The work done with the children is very much appreciated by the families, well received and encouraged by the community. Some mothers of these precious children help in food preparation and in any other way they can.
Akany Tafita also has a program for local young women to help them become self-sufficient. They are learning to bake, sew and embroider small products they can sell in markets or on the street.
Please pray for the AKANY TAFITA board and staff, and all of the children and young people who will benefit from this ministry.
Tax-deductible DONATIONS for ongoing development of Akany Tafita: send cheques payable to A.M.S.C. with annotation “for AKANY TAFITA”. Please send them to: A.M.S.C. Box 1072, Sault Ste. Marie, ON. P6A 5N7.
